Ms. Komal Shah-Bhukhanwala is the founder and CEO of the InnovarIP Consulting Group. Ms. Shah-Bhukhanwala has experience in advising clients on patent strategy as well as preparing patent applications for startups and Fortune 500 companies in the United States and in India, in the telecom, software, biotechnology and chemical space. Prior to starting InnovarIP, she was leading the patent practice at IPPro, an outsourcing outfit for Nishith Desai Associates, an Indian law firm based in Mumbai and Silicon Valley. There she developed and trained the patent team on various outsourcing projects. Prior to that, Ms. Shah developed the patent portfolio at Sulphur Mills Ltd., a mid-size agrochemical company in Mumbai, India, and worked as a process engineer for DuPont. Ms. Shah’s research and engineering experience includes assisting in the development of microarray screening systems using protein-molecule interactions and developing reduced dosage agrochemical formulations as well as spray-drying technology. She is also a guest lecturer at the Institute of Intellectual Property Studies, Mumbai. Ms. Shah holds a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, TN, a Masters in Biochemistry from Boston University, and an M.B.A. from IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain. She is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as with the Indian Patent Office.

Our chemical team includes Ph.Ds in Organic chemistry and chemical engineering, registered with the Indian Patent Office, with experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and conducting infringement analysis.
